Friends of Cusworth Park
The Friends of Cusworth Park community group was set up in 2006 to support the on-going maintenance and restoration of the grounds of Cusworth Hall – a Grade II listed park laid out in the 18th century.
The Friends regularly hosts a varied programme of talks, demonstrations and events. Practical assistance in the form of ‘hands-on’ gardening and fundraising is provided by the group.
Cusworth Park has also benefited from a dedicated band of conservation volunteers who have got to grips with the vegetation. Together they are making a vital contribution to improving the park for the local community and visitors.
The Friends contributed to the reopening of Lady Isabella’s Garden, a former Edwardian Rose Garden immediately to the west of the Hall and raised funding for an environmental classroom, interpretive boards and a nature walk in the park.
The Friends of Cusworth Park aims to bring together different groups of visitors to the park, promote education provision in horticultural, historic and environmental themes and provide a forum for views and comments.
If you would like to join the Friends of Cusworth Park, pick up a leaflet from the Hall and complete the membership form or email the Friends.
