Group Tours at Cusworth Hall

Cusworth Hall and Park is an ideal location for group tours.  We offer a range of guided tours for groups of 10-40 people.

Cusworth Hall
A general guided tour of Cusworth Hall will focus on the history of the Hall from its completion in 1744 as a family home, to its transformation to the social history museum you see Image of Cusworth Hall photographed through the gate house archtoday. You will learn all about the key family members, from William Wrightson, the builder of the Hall, to Robert Cecil Battie-Wrightson, the last family member to live at Cusworth.

The Servants of Cusworth Hall
The focus of this tour will be on the life and work of some of the servants who called Cusworth Hall their home. From the eighteenth century Cook to the last family servants of the twentieth century, you will discover all about the work of a servant, and how the relationship between family and servant changed and evolved over the centuries.

The Children of the Family
Cusworth Hall was the birthplace and family home to many generations of children. On this tour you will find out all about the children who lived, played – and worked – here, from the first child to be christened in the newly-completed chapel in 1753, to Robert and Barbara Battie-Wrightson, whose childhood was spent here at the end of the Victorian era.

Glorious Georgians
The focus of this tour will be on Cusworth’s eighteenth century history. You will learn all about the family, servants and the architecture of the Hall from its completion in 1744 until the end of the Regency period at the beginning of the nineteenth century.

A Cusworth Christmas (from end November 2018)
Our roaring open fire will welcome you as you join us for a festive tour of the Hall. We will discover how Christmas was celebrated by the Battie-Wrightson family here at Cusworth from the eighteenth century until the 1950s.
