About us
Heritage Doncaster, previously known as Doncaster Heritage Services, is a Doncaster Council service formed in 2014. It operates the Council’s heritage sites and services including the Danum Gallery, Library and Museum (in partnership with Doncaster Libraries), Cusworth Hall & Park, City of Doncaster Archives and Local Studies Library, and a heritage learning service.

What we will do by 2023:
- Re-open and step up our services in a period of recovery following the COVID-19 pandemic. This includes opening the Danum Gallery, Library and Museum for the first time.
- Create a sustainable and resilient business model, which future-proofs our financial and operational capabilities.
- Catalogue, research, and digitise more of our collections, ensuring they are accessible and they represent the people of Doncaster.
- Transform the Chequer Road site into Doncaster Archives and a Local Studies research hub
- Develop and grow our formal and informal learning offers for people of all ages
- Provide a first-class visitor experience in the Danum Gallery, Library and Museum
- Work in partnership with other services and organisations to deliver the best for Doncaster
- Continue our transformation journey to empower staff to deliver exciting and life enhancing services for all.
- Work with national and other regional museums and partners to provide learning and cultural experiences for the people of Doncaster
- Open up new service touchpoints, including a new rail heritage centre and new immersive displays
- Continue to enhance the wellbeing of residents in localities across Doncaster, striving to tackle social isolation
