Collecting your coronavirus stories

Museums collect stories from the past, but also collect stories of the present.  In the future people will be looking back at this time and will want to know what life in Doncaster was like during the coronavirus outbreak.  They will be interested in how people reacted, what people did whilst staying home, what we found hard and what we did to celebrate when it was all over!

We want to hear from you! We would like to hear your experiences. We would also like to see any objects that we could add to the museum collection (when it is safe to do so). This could include:

  • Examples of home-school work you have done with your children
  • Photographs of your working from home set ups, supermarket visits, your daily exercise, video calls
  • Coronavirus notices e.g. ‘Wash Your Hands’
  • Notes posted through your door from neighbours offering to help
  • Diaries
  • Anything creative you are doing e.g. knitting, painting, scrapbooking
  • Audio recordings e.g. voice notes of your experiences, recordings of video calls

If you have anything you would like to share with us email [email protected] or share with us on Twitter or Facebook. Make sure to let us know your name and how we can contact you.
