Mansion House
Doncaster’s elegant Mansion House has dominated the High Street for over two hundred and fifty years. It is one of only three Mansion Houses remaining in the country along with those in London and York.
Whilst the Mansion Houses of London and York provided accommodation for the mayor as one of their functions the Bristol Mansion House was built solely as a home for the mayor.
Doncaster Mansion House, however, was designed as a place for corporate entertaining and, although there were several rooms to provide living accommodation, the house was never intended as a residence for the mayor in his year of office, although a few mayors made use of the rooms for this purpose
Doncaster Mansion House is situated on High Street in the heart of the Town Centre.
Open Days 2025
Discover Doncaster’s elegant Mansion House. The Friends of Doncaster Mansion House will be leading tours around the building. Refreshments are available to purchase. Donations welcome. No booking required.

Room Hire
Meeting Room hire is available at the Mansion House.
We are not able to accept bookings currently for wedding receptions, please contact the Register office to book ceremonies. We are not able to accommodate bookings at the Mansion House at the weekend, including wedding receptions.
