History, Health and Happiness Blog
By Victoria Ryves, NPO Programme Manager
In this blog we share updates from our History, Health and Happiness programme, which aims to tackle isolation and improve wellbeing in four key areas of Doncaster, using museum collections as the basis for outreach and community engagement activities.
This October the History, Health and Happiness team have been getting spooky across the Borough. History Club, in partnership with B:friend saw the groups finding out about those accused of witchcraft in Doncaster in the 1600s, as well as telling the some scary stories. Denaby’s Herstory group explored the stories of women involved in science for Ada Lovelace Day and found out about the women on board the Mayflower (check out these DIY chocolate turkeys!) October also saw another b:heard at Doncaster Little Theatre with B:Friend celebrating old age with special guest Grandma Williams.
