The Last Seam Oral Histories
The Last Seam is a play by writer Garry Lyons. The play tells the true story of the closing of Hatfield Colliery, and the impact it had on the mining communities. The play used the real voices of local miners and residents, and their words were used verbatim to create the script.
Several of the interviews that Garry carried out as part of creating the play have been added to Heritage Doncaster’s oral history collection. This was made possible by a grant from the National Lottery Heritage Fund.
