Get Wild Summer Club 2025
Myths and Legends
Get Wild Summer Club 2025 – That’s a Wrap!
Over four unforgettable Thursdays in August, we welcomed 12–16 year olds to Potteric Carr Nature Reserve for an epic summer of myths, legends, and wild adventures!
In partnership with Yorkshire Wildlife Trust, Heritage Doncaster brought history to life—exploring Viking and Celtic gods, medieval shapeshifters, and legendary music icons through museum treasures and storytelling.
Surrounded by nature, participants also got hands-on with lots of activities.
Here’s a video of what we got up to:
Get wild is funded through the Universal Summer Activity Fund from Doncaster Council.

2023 – Get Wild at Potteric Carr
A participant said:
“I have enjoyed these sessions a lot, getting out into nature, learn new things, and meeting new people. Before coming I was really nervous, I didn’t think I would get to know anyone, but it was nothing like that. It is probably the best I have ever come to. It has made my summer more fun, taking a break from screens.
My favourite activity was making the mallets, because we got to use our strength, it was fun. The instructors were great, all super friendly, helping us, making sure we were having a good time”.
