Lunch Space

Our lunch space is located in the Rail Heritage Centre. If the weather is nice you can use our gated courtyard. When booking please inform us if you require a lunch space reserving. Teachers are required to ensure that the lunch space is tidy following the booking. Cleaning materials are provided. If the area is not left clean you will be charged a £25 fee.

Booklets

Please print off the work booklet that you are sent when you book and bring this with you for your pupils to use in their workshop. You can find the booklets you need for your workshop here.

Risk Assessments

We encourage you to plan a pre-visit and carry out your own risk assessment for your school trip. We can organise by request for a member of the learning team to accompany you on this visit. If you are not able to visit in person you can take a tour of the building virtually here.

We ask that all schools comply with our safety guidelines when visiting.

Photography

On arrival teachers are asked to complete a form regarding photography and voice recording. You will also receive this form when booking a workshop so the relevant consent can be collected from parents and guardians prior to the class visit.

Allergies

During our archaeology workshops we use a variety of food in our coprolite activity. This is not ingested just handled. If a child or adult has a food allergy it is essential that you inform us when booking, so that we can adapt the session.

SEND Pupils

We can adapt our workshops to suit the needs of your pupils. Please notify us in advance if children attending the workshop have any additional support needs – we are happy to adapt our sessions appropriately so everyone can enjoy them.
