Arrivals: Renneth Green
Renneth Green came to the UK from Jamaica in 1965 aged 21. Renneth met up with her husband Lennie who was already living in London. Whilst in London she worked at the Edgware General Hospital.
After two years in London Renneth made the move to Doncaster to be with her mother. Once settled in to life in England, she and Lennie made arrangements for their siblings to join them. Renneth’s first impressions of life in England were like that of many others. On seeing the chimneys throughout England she assumed the country was awash with factories, and therefore jobs!
