Arrivals: Violet Finch

Violet arrived in the UK on 12th of June 1965 aged 18. 

Violet was accepted into South Shields Nursing School where she completed her general nurse training and received the state registered nursing qualification.

After completing general nursing training Violet moved to Doncaster to train as a midwife, which she completed in 1970.During this training she met her future husband, Peter.

Peter’s various career progressions would result in many moves around the country for the couple, including London, Knottingley and St Helens before moving back to Doncaster.

Peter and Violet have lived in Doncaster for the past 36 years.  Although now retired from full time work Violet heads the ‘New Life Support Group’, a voluntary group offering help and assistance to bereaved parents.
